Happy Birthday to Me!

I'm 23 now.  But not inside..... I feel 18 still.  So immature and so young.  I know I am still young but.... well this post is not intended to be depressing!!!!

So many good things happened on Monday.  I was spoiled rotten!!!! It was a party all day!

Present from work
Surprise at my desk
Surprise visit from my wonderful husband.  I love flowers!  Inside the card was a coupon to go get my hair done.  Such a sweetheart.
My boss and some coworkers took me out to the Pizza Factory as well!!  I love pizza way too much.  After work my family made me some delicious homemade cheeseburgers.  Yum.... I know... you are jealous.....

hahahaha my dad really likes Miracle Whip?
Yes.... it was as good as it looks... :)
Ooooo I LOVE presents.

Yes.... the motherload.  So spoiled!
After opening presents Kalinja got home from her trip with her friends and we all went and saw Snow White & the Huntsman.  I loved it!  I really recommend you go see it... however, I have a tendency to like super cheesy movies that others don't like.  Oh well.... go see it anyways!

We got back at around 12:30 from the movie and had cake and ice cream.  Ariel made the yummiest cake!

Getting too old.... my cake is now a bonfire! S'mores anyone???
Some people in the family don't like nuts in their cake.  I am definitely not one of them!  But my mom made chocolate sprinkle cupcakes for the ones who don't.
Justin and I got home at around 1:30 in the morning. (My family and I are party animals!!!) and I had more presents waiting for me there!  I love my husband!

 So many gifts!!!!

It was such a happy happy birthday!  I loved spending so much time with my family.

BIG IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE

This past semester Justin got his Associates Degree!!!! So proud of this boy!  It just came in the mail yesterday and we were both so excited!  Congrats Justin!

This is the last blog for about 2 weeks.  We are going to sunny PA!!  So excited to go visit Jason and Rachel and their cute boys!  I will take lots of pictures and report back.

Have a fun rest of the week!

Over the Weekend

We had the most wonderfully uneventful weekend!  Just so nice to be able to relax and enjoy this beautiful weather we have been having here!  Friday we spent some time with our friends Dave and Ryan.  We just sat outside and made s'mores with E.L. fudge cookies.  Yum.....

Saturday Justin and I went to the mall and bought some new hats for our PA and DC trip coming up!  So cute....

Sunday we went to church in the morning and then came home and I played Zelda: Twilight Princess for about two hours.  Don't judge.... I LOVE that game! hahaha. We went over to my parents for some sloppy joe's for dinner and lounged around at home!

See! So uneventful but lovely.

Have a wonderful week!

Oh yeah...... It's my birthday today :)

Memorial Day Weekend + Nature walk on Tuesday

To kick off the great weekend, Justin and I invited my family over for dinner.  I was a little dumb by deciding to make something that I had never even tried before.  I can make the basics pretty well like chicken and hamburger and pasta but never anything as intense as Chicken Cordon Bleu.  It took me 2 and 1/2 hours to make! But my goodness it was delicious!  I was so proud!

My family said they loved it! Unless they were lying????  It was so good to have them over.  Because it was the first time I had made dinner for my family, they were curious as to why I would be inviting them over. hahahahaha They thought that we had an announcement.....

Well everyone! I'm pleased to announce that.......

We have no announcement. HAHAHAHAHA. We just wanted to invite them over! No babies anytime soon for us! I think I need to grow up a little more! Breathe easy mom and dad..... breathe easy :)

While everyone was over we made a little floral arrangement for my grandparents grave.  I think it turned out lovely.

Thanks for coming family!  We miss you already!

Justin and I have been DYING to go on a little camping trip for a long time.  We thought that Memorial Day weekend would be the perfect weekend to go.  Unfortunately, everywhere was booked and our camping trip ideals were being shoved out the window.  Then something amazing happened!!! Jodie and Kodey invited us to go RV camping!!!  WE WERE SAVED!!!!  We went to Marysvale, Utah. Don't worry, we had never heard of it either. (Population: 306) Oh it was so much fun and so beautiful! We went four-wheeling, did a little hiking, played minute-to-win-it, stood by the fire (least favorite clothes to wash and I hate that I have to shower twice to get the stink out... but I love standing by the fire!), played with our cute little nieces, visited a Mining camp, and lots and lots more!  All in just 24 hours!

Going four-wheeling lulled little kiwi right to sleep!
Cute little Kaydence!
All the cousins together
At the Miner's camp...
eww... gross!
Action shot of Kodey
Playing Minute to win-it.  Justin won!
I did too..... but I had to look ridiculous doing it.
silk worms
When we first saw all these cars we were so happy because we thought so many people in this little town were coming to church! We got closer and saw that it was just a junkyard NEXT-TO the church. hahaha
Gorgeous waterfall
such a cute family
This mountain is right before Marysvale.  When Justin first saw it he said it reminded him on candyland.  I looked at him kinda crazy.  We drove closer and saw the sign for the mountain's name. "BIG ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN"  Yeah. Go figure.
We had such a fun weekend with our families!  It was a nice little reprieve from work that is for sure!  So it was back to reality for us on Tuesday.  I was having a little nature withdrawal and told Justin after work that I wanted to go hiking.  And he came up with the brilliant idea of doing the hike we went on for our first date.  Such a romantic.  We hadn't been there since!  I was so glad to go back!

We made a little friend

Such a beautiful place!  Justin and I have decided that we will always remind ourselves of the little things that have made us so happy during our dating and marriage relationship.  It's those little things that can make a big difference!  When times get hard, and I'm sure they will, we will have these special times and places to look back on.

I hope you all had such a great memorial day!  I know we did!  Enjoy the first weekend of summer! YAY!!
