Lately...

 Nothing too crazy happening here over at the Woods house lately.  Lots of work and school... and more work.... and more school.  I don't think we've become too drab yet but we gotta start something spontaneous soon or we'll die!!!
All drama aside.... it's good that we are in school and working full time.  We are just ready for a break. 

Can I get a AMEN.

Mini Cupcakes

I LOVE mini cupcakes.  Like seriously.... they are perfectly bite sized and oh so cute.  I mean, who doesn't love a miniature version of pretty much anything right????  So I am practicing my baking skills.  Yup!  That's right.  And I'm starting out with cupcakes.  I haven't really been able to practice much what with going to work full time and school part time at night (bleck) but I try to get some baking in when I can.  Over the weekend I made the most DELICIOUS cupcakes courtesy of a recipe my mom gave me when I got married.  I made mini raspberry cupcakes with raspberry cream cheese frosting.  Yeah I know..... they were incredible!!!  Mistake of the century though is that I did not put cupcake liners in my pan.  They didn't stick or anything because I greased the pan but those little cupcakes were just too easy to pop in my mouth everytime I walked through the kitchen.  Next time, I'm definitely using cupcake liners so that it takes some effort to eat those things.  Wise idea.

^^ This comparison picture?  I was having a rough time keeping all my batter contained in the individual cups.... obviously.  Found this unused mustard bottle to put the batter in and it truly saved the day!!

A day at the zoo

I vaguely remember the last time I was at the zoo.  I know I was really little.  I've been so eager to go lately!  The zoo was just as great as I imagined it to be!  If you are ever in Salt Lake City, Utah make sure you go to the Hogle Zoo.  You will be glad you did!

I sure do LOVE Valentine's Day

But who wouldn't when you have the most incredible Valentine ever!!!!!  Luckiest girl :)  Last night was incredible.  I really wanted to stay home and cook dinner then just watch a movie in our living room.  It was absolutely PERFECT.  I made the most amazing Chicken Cordon Bleu ever for dinner.... it takes a long time to make but oh so worth it!  Then we watched Date Night for the first time and could not stop laughing!

Seriously.... I LOVE Valentine's Day.

 Started the day out getting these incredible surprise flowers from Justin at work.

Yes we do have leftovers!  Come and get some!

 ^^ Gifts from Justin.... I love that he picks out amazing outfits for me all the time!  And they always fit perfectly!  Seriously.... he is incredible. ^^

I hope you all had such a beautiful Valentine's Day.  It's never about whether or not you have a boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse.  But really its just taking a day to appreciate your family, friends, and even yourself.

Swim Queen

Does anyone else hate swimming?  I swear I swallow my body weight in water every time I try to swim.  I am really really bad at it.  It also makes me super jealous that my sister is so dang good!  I mean..... why didn't I pick up that gene!?!?!  She's a fish!  So Britt'e made it to state and competed last weekend at BYU.  She won FIRST in her heat and swam her best time ever in the 100 back!  (I'm starting to get all the swim lingo down... *sweet*)

 This picture ^^ showed up in the Deseret News paper!  Holy Cow!  My sister is famous.
