ROCK-O-WEEN

Second performance last night for the new band: Phantasm
It was such a great turn out!
Pretty sure there was about 20 people crammed into that living room.

Pics and little snippet of video for you to enjoy!
What do you think?
Justin is the one playing bass wearing that hat...
 just so you know.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Thanks Summer Jones for the epic photos!
And as far as the video's go.... They are awesome quality on my phone but for some reason when I transfer them to blogger they get all fuzzy.  Sorry about that.

Halloween Party #2 - Justin's side of the family

.... was extremely delicious.

Lots of amazing food and treats.  Justin and I were in charge of bringing dessert.  We were running a bit behind yesterday and so I decided on something simple, yummy, and cute.
STRAWBERRY GHOSTS!
I love them.

It was a costume party so we had to scramble for some last minute dress-ups.  Justin went as Shaggy (from Scooby-Doo) and looked just like him, and I went as a baby. (Brilliant idea on my part.  Going to a family party, eating lots of food, don't have to wear make-up, and I get to be in my PJ's. It was bliss.)
I would have taken more pictures but we were having such a great time that I didn't even think about it!  We did have a big family photo of everyone in their costumes so I will need to hunt that photo down and post it when I get it.  So many darling costumes!!

Next party?  Wednesday night!  We get to spend it with my side of the family!  Oh it's going to be a good time.  Passing out candy while seeing all the cute kids from the neighborhood in their costumes will only be half the fun!  I'm so excited.

SIDE NOTE

To all those on the east coast..... we are thinking of you and our prayers are being sent your way.  We can't even begin to comprehend the kind of terror and unknowing that comes with such a storm as Hurricane Sandy.  We hope that everyone is okay and has made it safely through.  That includes YOU Woods family of Lititz, PA!  BE SAFE! and God bless America.

First Halloween party of the season

And what a success it was!  But instead of telling you... how 'bout I just show you!
Friends came over to our place and we all put our artistic skills to work!

We didn't go without our fair share of treats!
Homemade sugar cookies with homemade frosting - - yes..... They were as delicious as they are cute :)
Homemade hot chocolate on the stove..... I added some cinnamon and nutmeg.  Mmmmm it was so yummy!
Thanks Sum for the delicious cupcakes and witch's brew!
Ready for the big reveal!
They all turned out so good!
Justin's  Daft Punk pumpkin!  So creative and so good!
I certainly cannot get enough of my minion!  HEY DAVE!
The party was such a blast!  It was so good to be with great friends!  We have two more parties on the way!  Cannot get enough!  That wasn't all of our weekend though....  we were lucky enough to babysit these two dolls for a few hours... They helped me with my make-up.  It was the best it has ever looked!  Cute Kaydence and Kiwi.
I hope everyone had such a great weekend!  Halloween is this week!
Happy Monday :)

Why can't it wait

At least until after Halloween.
I'm not ready!
I don't want to begin the regime of scraping off my windows and turning on the car right when I get up in the morning so that it is warm enough for me to drive in.
No.
I don't want to.

-picture of my car window this morning-
It is so pretty to look at though....
I know I shouldn't be complaining.
I live in Utah for goodness sake!
We are known for our great winter resorts!
I'm just not a winter person.
I don't really enjoy being cold.
I do, however, like being in my cozy socks and leggings with a cup of hot chocolate watching a movie while the world is white around me.
THAT I'm definitely okay with.
Happy Friday.

Some exciting news!

Before I get to that though...

Here's what we have been up to!

Last weekend Justin played with his new band for the first time.  It was a great show!  They always play great tunes and I love watching him perform!  I know.... the picture is dark but it was all I could get!

That same night my cousin Chantel and I had a much needed girls night out.... Oh my goodness we ate so much food.  It felt like a rock in my stomach for the entire weekend!  So worth it.  She is darling!

We have been hanging out a lot lately with Tommy and Ashley.  I'm pretty sure we are all going to be best friends forever. hahaha :)  But seriously!  We had such a great time!  We went and had Red Lobster's all you can eat shrimp meal and did a session at the Salt Lake Temple.  It was Justin and my first live session and we absolutely loved it!  What an amazing experience in such a remarkable place.

Coming into the good news!  Tommy, Ashley, Justin, and I just booked a week trip in December to.... (drum roll please) CANCUN!!!!  Oh my goodness I can barely contain the excitement!  There are no words.....  We all cannot wait and are so excited to be warm right in the middle of December.  We get back just before Christmas!  Perfect timing. ;)

Have any of you been to Cancun before?  What was it like?  Tell me about all the favorite things you did so that we will be ready to go!

p.s.  All of you here in Utah.... can you believe this snow!  Starting so early!  So pretty :)  I know Justin is excited! Snowboarding season....

Cabin fever

Because of school we haven't had much time to spend together. I KNOW..... it's so sad!! So when we do get some time we never know what to do!  We always have the infamous convo of  "so what do you wanna do? oh I dunno what do you wanna do? well I dunno I asked you first! well I dunno either and I asked you second" kind of thing. But we NEEDED to get out of the house.  So what do we do?  Hit the mall to buy comfy polka dotted socks and make hot chocolate. Perfect combo.

I don't know why Justin looks so sad in that last picture.... still completely adorable though.

It's going to be a great weekend!  I've got my cousin Chan coming over to pig out with me and we are going to take a break in the middle of our girls night to watch Justin play in his new band.  Oober excited. :)

Have an absolutely wonderful weekend!

A little bit proud

I have been working since April on becoming a healthier me.  I guess I never really thought I could do it..... We see every day on TV those miracles where people lose 50 lbs and 100 inches off their bodies.  It was a fantasy..... something I wished for but never thought I could accomplish.  Now I'm not saying I was fat by all means.  I like to call it.... Pleasantly Plump.  After getting married, I started my baking frenzy.  It was all about the CARBS.  breads, pastas, pastries, you name it.  I was constantly indulging in "good" food.  I was also in denial about how it was affecting my body.  I didn't want to notice how tired I was getting during the day and how it was affecting my mood.  I finally couldn't take it any longer.  And it sure was not easy to change.  At first, it was all I could think about.  I would go to the store and all I could think about was the oatmeal creme pies 3 isles down from the frozen blueberries I was unwillingly putting in my cart.  It was complete torture.  But I knew I needed to make the change.  I still crave bad things from time to time but now that I have fed myself healthy foods and gotten my self on a good track, I can have those things from time to time and not feel guilty about it.  Do you know how good that feels!  To feel great about my body, enjoy a decadent brownie, and still feel good afterwords?  Oh it's heaven sent.  It's amazing the energy I have and the change in my self-esteem is beyond words.  (Justin,  I know what you are thinking when I say I have more energy..... please discount the 8 hours I sat on the couch watching 24 reruns last night.... such a moment of weakness... hahaha)

I'm still working hard but I'm to a place where I can't keep the results to myself!!!

Beginning Weight: 161 lbs.
Present Weight: 138.5 lbs.
Total lost: -22.5 lbs.
Total inches lost: 19 in.

Here is a picture of my face in April compared to one that was taken yesterday.  I never knew it was such a difference!

It feels a little weird being this proud and sharing it so openly.  I hope no one confuses it with arrogance and that it's just me relishing in the fact that I achieved a goal that I never thought I would be able to achieve!

Happy Wednesday everybody.  It's gonna be a good one. :)

What we're up to

This season has brought us lazy days, good food, fall colors, new shows, and fun times.  We are soaking it all in as much as we can and enjoying every bit of it.  The agenda for this week?  Spontaneity I believe. While throwing in a date with the cousin and Justins first show with his new band.  Over the weekend we had a fabulous double date with our friends Tommy and Ashley, people watching at the mall with a hot-chocolate in hand, lots of resting to help Justin get better (it makes me so sad to see him sick), and leftover homemade cheesy cauliflower soup (by leftover i mean left over and over and over and over).

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
