I have a feeling that the crazy busy schedule we had last weekend is only the start of the busy weekends that always occur during the fall and winter seasons..... WHY IS THAT?!?!? I am not complaining though. We had some goooood times. We ran a 5k and with my side of the family and didn't train for it. My dad, sisters, and brother-in-law rocked it! Justin would've too if he wasn't a gem and didn't stay by my side. I almost died. Serious. I won't even say my time. It's too.... shameful. ha. Luckily my mom and everyone else in that fam that was done cheered us on at the end. Goodness knows I needed a boost.
I probably napped a total of 5 hours that day just recuperating. yikes. Later that night we celebrated our run with rita's... oh man. When we were visiting family in PA last year we couldn't get enough of Rita's! It was only on the east coast though. FINALLY two opened up here in Utah and we couldn't wait to go!
Go get some.... seriously. And get the gelati. It will never fail you. We had dinner with the in-laws on Sunday and everyone was there except the Woods clan from Indiana. We missed you guys...
So a pretty good weekend for sure! It is always such a bummer on Mondays with the knowledge that is it back to the ol' grind with work and school. Reality can suck sometimes. Justin surprised me with roses last night though. Those along with a clean house, dishes done, and laundry going... I mean COME ON!
I am seriously the luckiest girl.
happy hump day!
Worked on some jewelry for the shop over the weekend too! Find the new designs here!
I'm pretty sure I could fall asleep standing up..... my eyelids are begging me to close but I just can't.... almost friday.... but not quite.
I am having a serious issue with my calculus class right now and I need some advice! I feel like I am in a stupor still and I can't seem to really get involved in the class. Kinda like the feeling when you first start a course and you don't quite know what is going on yet... yeah I still have that and we are 4 weeks in!!! HOW DO I GET RID OF THIS FEELING! Serious.... I have a test tomorrow that is really freaking me out. Lame.
Anyways, let's not be so depressing. It's almost friday :)
Oh my goodness it has certainly been way too long since I have written. School is seriously blowing my brain out and everything besides that gets put on the back burner.... I love blogging though so I really need to keep it up. I wanna tell you all about my new venture! It really isn't anything yet but I will be working so hard at improving at it! Plus I just have oodles of fun and you can never really put a price on that.
I HAVE A NEW ETSY SHOP!
Yep that's right. I create and design my own jewelry! I have been doing it for quite a while and with a few pushes from friends and family I decided to try and sell them! We will see how this turns out! Look them up here and tell me what you think! I would love any and all opinions so please comment and tell me what you like. I would really appreciate it!
You can follow my shops instagram here too!
I hope you are all having such a wonderful week so far.
Today is the last day! Summer school is over at 6:50 an it's time to celebrate with oreo's doused in milk. DOUSED. I really can't wait! I know this is nerdy but let's talk about my classes.... First block I had math. Math comes easier for me. Everything is black and white. There is only one right answer. I just barely finished English and I am pretty sure my brain is jell-o. Not everything is clear and set out right in front if you..... It was really hard for me.... But I finished! And it was great! Did my diddy about space exploration (nerd!) and I seriously can't wait to celebrate. Just had to vent about the today and I promise another update will come soon!
OH MY GOODNESS. I have missed the blog oh so very much these past couple months. The Woods are alive and well! Only because "finals week" just came to a close..... thank goodness. School has beat me alive people. I didn't know that I would be so out of touch in doing schoolwork and preparing for exams.... it seriously took all of my focus and whenever I thought of writing a little blog post, it just seemed like such a burden. Just another thing to add to my list. I CAN'T ENJOY DOING SOMETHING WHEN I AM THINKING LIKE THAT! So I decided that my blog was low on my priority list and I would pick it up when I could. Finally that time has come! Who knows though, I enrolled in summer school so I might only be updating this for about a week. lol.
Let's have a little update post. Last Saturday Justin turned the big 25 years old! Geez..... old man. We had a great party with friends playing Mario Kart (two tv's everyone... we take our Mario Kart very seriously. It was legit.) where I made and served the most delicious cupcakes and then his side of the family came over on Sunday to celebrate as well! 25.... my goodness.
So we just ended spring semester at school. We are both anticipating our final grades and have our fingers crossed so tight! The unknown is a doozy. We are both taking summer classes and continuing in the fall as well. He gets done so soon! He's only got about a year left and I only have about eternity left. This too shall pass. (So they say).
Our excited faces... or just mine.
It feels so good to be writing on the blog again and going around and reading my favorite blogs as well. It's been too long. I'm determined to be a little better with the blog from now on but you just never know what the future will knock you on the head with. Never a dull moment. I hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday! I think after work I'm going to take a very much needed nap; for like 16 hours. Then I think I will be close to catching up on my sleep :)
Nothing too crazy happening here over at the Woods house lately. Lots of work and school... and more work.... and more school. I don't think we've become too drab yet but we gotta start something spontaneous soon or we'll die!!!
All drama aside.... it's good that we are in school and working full time. We are just ready for a break.
I LOVE mini cupcakes. Like seriously.... they are perfectly bite sized and oh so cute. I mean, who doesn't love a miniature version of pretty much anything right???? So I am practicing my baking skills. Yup! That's right. And I'm starting out with cupcakes. I haven't really been able to practice much what with going to work full time and school part time at night (bleck) but I try to get some baking in when I can. Over the weekend I made the most DELICIOUS cupcakes courtesy of a recipe my mom gave me when I got married. I made mini raspberry cupcakes with raspberry cream cheese frosting. Yeah I know..... they were incredible!!! Mistake of the century though is that I did not put cupcake liners in my pan. They didn't stick or anything because I greased the pan but those little cupcakes were just too easy to pop in my mouth everytime I walked through the kitchen. Next time, I'm definitely using cupcake liners so that it takes some effort to eat those things. Wise idea.
^^ This comparison picture? I was having a rough time keeping all my batter contained in the individual cups.... obviously. Found this unused mustard bottle to put the batter in and it truly saved the day!!
Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday! This week has gone by pretty slow for me.... what about you?
I vaguely remember the last time I was at the zoo. I know I was really little. I've been so eager to go lately! The zoo was just as great as I imagined it to be! If you are ever in Salt Lake City, Utah make sure you go to the Hogle Zoo. You will be glad you did!
Look at all these beautiful animals!
I already want to go back but... well, they say patience is a virtue.
But who wouldn't when you have the most incredible Valentine ever!!!!! Luckiest girl :) Last night was incredible. I really wanted to stay home and cook dinner then just watch a movie in our living room. It was absolutely PERFECT. I made the most amazing Chicken Cordon Bleu ever for dinner.... it takes a long time to make but oh so worth it! Then we watched Date Night for the first time and could not stop laughing!
Seriously.... I LOVE Valentine's Day.
Started the day out getting these incredible surprise flowers from Justin at work.
Yes we do have leftovers! Come and get some!
^^ Gifts from Justin.... I love that he picks out amazing outfits for me all the time! And they always fit perfectly! Seriously.... he is incredible. ^^
I hope you all had such a beautiful Valentine's Day. It's never about whether or not you have a boyfriend, girlfriend, or spouse. But really its just taking a day to appreciate your family, friends, and even yourself.
Does anyone else hate swimming? I swear I swallow my body weight in water every time I try to swim. I am really really bad at it. It also makes me super jealous that my sister is so dang good! I mean..... why didn't I pick up that gene!?!?! She's a fish! So Britt'e made it to state and competed last weekend at BYU. She won FIRST in her heat and swam her best time ever in the 100 back! (I'm starting to get all the swim lingo down... *sweet*)
This picture ^^ showed up in the Deseret News paper! Holy Cow! My sister is famous.
Yes. I will get her autograph for you.
WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU BRITT'E BREE!
Good luck this weekend in St. George!
(Hopefully your strep throat goes away soon!)
